How Do I Subscribe to Updates?

Please note: this service does NOT include updates to the Online Directory.
What is RSS?
RSS, or 'Really Simple Syndication', is website software that allows website visitors to 'subscribe' to updates of webpages. This allows visitors to keep up to date with websites they are interested in.
The benefits of RSS include:
Quick Subscribe
Know all the RSS jargon? Or not interested in learning it? Here are the quick-and-easy ways to subscribe to updates:
Get emailed new updates:
- visitors having a higher degree of control over the content that is being delivered to them (in comparison to information being distributed via a mailing list).
- visitors don't have to re-visit multiple websites repeatedly to check for updates.
The term 'RSS feed' refers to the feed of information from a remote site (such as a blog) to a visitor. The visitor receives the information in a form similar to an email, via their RSS feed reader (a program for subscribing to RSS, sometimes called an 'aggregator') or their email (depending on what email programs they use, or whether the website provides email updates). For example, when a blogger makes a new post to their blog, the RSS subscriber receives that post automatically in their aggregator.
There are also web-based feed readers visitors can use, rather than downloading and installing software on their computer.

You may also wish to check if your email program allows you to subscribe to RSS feeds.
The philanthropyOz Blog doesn't require you have an RSS feed reader in order to receive updates. By entering your email in the yellow box above, you can subscribe to receive updates in your email.
